Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve compiled answers to the questions we hear most about our art prints and photography services, whether you’re curious about booking a session, purchasing a print or learning what makes our work unique, you’ll find everything you need right here.

Our iris photography uses a single, non‑flickering flash, which is not known to trigger seizures, even for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Most triggers involve repeated flashing lights, not one brief burst.

If you’re sensitive to bright light or would like extra reassurance, I’m always happy to adjust so you feel completely comfortable. If you are epileptic, please let our photographer know.

Is it safe?

Yes — iris photography is completely safe. The process is gentle, non‑invasive, and designed with your comfort in mind. We use specialist equipment created specifically for photographing the iris, with soft, controlled lighting and absolutely no contact with the eye at any stage. You simply sit comfortably while we do the rest.

Yes — iris photography is suitable for children, and we regularly welcome little ones as well as adults. The process is gentle, relaxed, and guided at their pace. We take our time to help them feel settled and comfortable before capturing anything. For the best experience, we recommend a minimum age of around 4 years old, when children can sit still long enough for a clear, beautiful image.

If you wear glasses, we’ll simply ask you to remove them for the photo. Contact lenses are usually fine to keep in, though we may ask you to take them out if they affect the image quality or if they’re coloured.

Our iris photography sessions take place in a calm; comfortable studio designed entirely with your ease in mind. You’ll find a relaxed atmosphere, refreshments, and purpose‑built, fully adjustable equipment so we can tailor every detail to you.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be guided through the whole process.

We use specialist iris photography equipment to capture your eye in a relaxed, comfortable setting.

You’re welcome to ask questions at any point — we’re right there with you throughout.

We keep things unhurried and enjoyable.

Individual sessions allow up to 30 minutes per person, giving plenty of time to settle in.

Family and group bookings are usually quicker, as we photograph each person in turn.

Nothing at all. Just arrive at your booked time — or walk in if we have availability — and we’ll take care of the rest.
