I’m Dave Pinfield‑Wells, the founder and creative lead behind Optic Artistry. I have over 30 years’ experience in photography, and for me, photography has always been about connection — noticing the details that make each person unique and turning those details into something meaningful.

When I discovered iris photography, it felt like the perfect blend of science, creativity, and human storytelling. The iris is incredibly intricate, full of colour and character, and no two are ever the same. Capturing that individuality and transforming it into fine art became my passion and the foundation of this studio.

My approach is calm, friendly, and detail‑driven. I want every person who walks through the door to feel comfortable, understood, and excited about the artwork we’re creating together. From guiding you through the session to crafting your final piece, I’m involved in every step — ensuring the experience feels personal and the result feels exceptional.
