I’m Dave Pinfield‑Wells, the founder and creative lead behind Optic Artistry. With over 30 years of experience in photography, I’ve always been drawn to the small details that make each person unique. For me, photography is about connection noticing those details and turning them into something meaningful.

When I discovered iris photography, it felt like the perfect blend of science, creativity, and human storytelling. The iris is incredibly intricate, full of colour, texture, and character, and no two are ever the same. Capturing that individuality and transforming it into fine art became my passion and the foundation of this studio.

My approach is calm, friendly, and detail‑driven. I want everyone who walks through the door to feel comfortable, understood, and excited about the artwork we’re creating together. From guiding you through the session to crafting your final piece, I’m involved in every step, ensuring the experience feels personal and the result feels exceptional.
